Descripción La ingeniería civil se posiciona como líder en la transformación de los métodos de evaluación educativa, reemplazando los exámenes tradicionales por portafolios públicos y prácticas de ciencia abierta, especialmente en proyectos viales. Este enfoque fomenta la reflexión, la autonomía y la colaboración entre estudiantes, permitiendo documentar competencias a través de artefactos digitales como informes, diseños y reflexiones sobre proyectos reales. Basado en una revisión de literatura, se analizan procesos de implementación, barreras tecnológicas y pedagógicas, y estrategias para superarlas, como capacitaciones y retroalimentación continua. En el contexto de la pandemia, se observaron cambios hacia evaluaciones alternativas que promueven la integridad académica y la aplicación práctica del conocimiento. La integración de ciencia abierta, mediante datos reproducibles y herramientas de código libre, mejora la sostenibilidad y la seguridad en infraestructuras viales, utilizando simulaciones y análisis geográficos. Se destacan beneficios como mayor retención de conocimientos y desarrollo de habilidades profesionales, aunque persisten desafíos en carga laboral y privacidad. Este modelo no solo eleva la calidad educativa en ingeniería civil, sino que contribuye a proyectos viales más eficientes y equitativos, alineándose con objetivos de desarrollo sostenible.
