Descripción This study explores how the colloquial words found in the linguistic landscape of the fondas of Panama Oeste go beyond simple communication, as they are part of their identity and culture. The objective of this research was to identify and analyze the most prominent colloquial voices in the daily speech of its inhabitants, as well as to understand their communicative function and their roots in the community. To this end, a qualitative approach was applied, combining documentary, linguistic and sociolinguistic analysis to understand the evolution and use of these terms. The findings demonstrate that colloquial language is not static, but adapts to the social, historical and geographical dynamics of the environment. It is concluded that more than just words, these expressions strengthen the sense of belonging and preserve the traditions of the towns that are part of the tenth province.
Descripción En este estudio, se exploró cómo las palabrasoloquiales encontradas en el paisaje lingüístico de las fondas de Panamá Oeste van más allá de la simple comunicación, ya que son parte de su identidad y cultura. El objetivo de esta investigación consistió en identificar y analizar las voces coloquiales más prominentes en el habla cotidiana de sus habitantes, así como comprender su función comunicativa y su arraigo en la comunidad. Para ello, se aplicó un enfoque cualitativo, combinando el análisis documental, lingüístico y sociolingüístico para entender la evolución y el uso de estos términos. Los hallazgos demuestran que el lenguaje coloquial no es estático, sino que se adapta a las dinámicas sociales, históricas y geográficas del entorno. Se concluye que más que solo palabras, estas expresiones fortalecen el sentido de pertenencia y preservan las tradiciones de los pueblos que forman parte de la décima provincia.
