Descripción This systematic analysis studies how human and behavioral factors influence vulnerability to phishing in the context of higher education. The literature demonstrates that this vector initiates 91% of cyberattacks worldwide, making universities prime targets due to the automated and often mindless processing of emails by their users, as well as the limited digital literacy in Latin American institutions. The literature review was limited to publications between 2020 and 2026, obtained from the EBSCO database and the Google Scholar search engine, using the PRISMA methodology. Of the 152 sources initially identified, 9 were analyzed (9 journal articles). The findings provide a solid foundation for future efforts to develop instruments that assess individual weaknesses in relation to critical institutional gaps.
Descripción Este análisis sistemático estudia la forma en que los aspectos humanos y de comportamiento influyen en la vulnerabilidad al phishing en el contexto de la educación superior. La literatura demuestra que este vector inicia el 91% de los ciberataques a nivel mundial, lo que hace de las universidades blancos prioritarios debido al procesamiento automatizado y desatento (mindless) de correos electrónicos por parte de sus usuarios, así como a la escasa conciencia digital informada en las instituciones latinoamericanas. La revisión bibliográfica se limitó a publicaciones entre 2020 y 2026, obtenidas de la base de datos EBSCO y el buscador Google Académico, empleando la metodología PRISMA. De las 152 fuentes inicialmente encontradas, se analizaron 9 (9 artículos originales). Los hallazgos conseguidos constituyen un fundamento firme para los próximos esfuerzos de instrumentos que evalúen debilidades individuales con brechas institucionales críticas.
