Descripción This article analyzes the impact of four classic approaches—the philosophical thought of Karl Popper, the philosophical theory of Thomas Kuhn, the methodological anarchism of Paul Feyerabend, and Irme's research problem methodology—on the construction of knowledge in the social sciences. Through a descriptive, documentary-style review, each of the philosophical perspectives that contribute to defining the objects of study and guiding the methodological decisions used in social research were examined. Popper, for his part, proposes falsificationism as a criterion for scientific demarcation, emphasizing constant criticism and the provision of refutable hypotheses. Kuhn highlights the role of scientific paradigms and revolutions in the progress of science, which invites an examination of changes in the theoretical framework in social science disciplines. Feyerabend questions the existence of universal methodological rules, advocating for an anarchic pluralism where "anything goes." To stimulate innovation, Lakatos introduces research paradigms with irrefutable theoretical cores protected by auxiliary hypotheses, judging their progress by the capacity to predict novel facts rather than by confirmations. Based on these approaches, a complementary comparative discussion is conducted within the Social Sciences.
