Descripción Violence against women constitutes, today, one of the biggest problems against which every society must face. In Spain, as a mechanism to fight against this scourge, telematic control devices have been used for years that allow those investigated or convicted of this type of crime to be located in time and space. The present work, although it inevitably starts from a brief historical evolution on the national and supranational regulations applicable to the protection of victims of gender violence, focuses on an analysis of the effectiveness and efficiency of these devices since their introduction (2009) to the present (2022). Finally, considering the analyzed results, a series of proposals for improvement related to said technical devices will be raised, both from the purely technical aspect, and from the strictly legal one, without losing sight of the ultimate goal of these measures, which does not is other than the protection of women victims of gender violence -and their sons and daughters-.
Descripción La violencia sobre la mujer constituye, hoy en día, uno de los mayores problemas contra los que se debe enfrentar toda sociedad. En España, como mecanismo de lucha contra esa lacra, se hace uso desde hace años de dispositivos de control telemático que permiten ubicar en tiempo y espacio a los investigados o condenados por este tipo de delitos. El presente trabajo, si bien parte, inevitablemente, de una breve evolución histórica sobre la normativa nacional y supranacional aplicable a la protección de las víctimas de violencia de género, se centra en un análisis sobre la eficacia y eficiencia de estos dispositivos desde su introducción (2009) hasta la actualidad (2022). En fin, a la luz de los resultados analizados, se plantearán una serie de propuestas de mejora relativas a dichos dispositivos técnicos, tanto desde el aspecto puramente técnico, como del estrictamente jurídico, sin perder de vista el fin último de estas medidas, que no es otro que la protección de las mujeres víctimas de violencia de género -y sus hijos e hijas-.
