Descripción The work explores some issues related to beliefs, logic, and rational decisions, taking Newcomb's paradox as a reference. The article explores the ways in which this paradox has traditionally been seen, pointing out that it is not possible to speak of an incorrect position, given the conceptual basis that both argumentative strategies use, although one of them stands out due to the practical consequences it has.
 
The problem of determinism is also dealt with, and it is argued - following Dennett - that determinism is not necessarily incompatible with freedom.
Descripción El trabajo explora algunas cuestiones relacionadas con las creencias, la lógica y las decisiones racionales teniendo como referente la paradoja de Newcomb. El artículo explora las maneras en que se ha visto tradicionalmente esta paradoja, señalando que no se puede hablar de una postura incorrecta, dado los parámetros que ambas estrategias argumentativas usan, aunque una de ellas sobresale por las consecuencias prácticas que tiene.
 
También se trata el problema del determinismo y se argumenta -a partir de Dennett- que el determinismo no necesariamente es incompatible con la libertad.
