Descripción The process of generating energy has become more expensive, and demand has increased significantly. As a result, global energy prices have soared to historic levels. One of the most reliable and sustainable alternatives is the use of solar panels or photovoltaic energy. The objective of this study is to determine the time periods during which the highest amount of solar energy is generated, in order to optimize its use. Methods: This is a field study with a quantitative and cross-sectional approach. Data were collected over a 10-day period during the months of February and March, from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Results: The highest levels of solar energy generation were observed between 8:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. Conclusion: A significant portion of the energy generated during the day is lost, as lighting and electrical equipment are mostly used at night, when there is no direct solar energy generation.
