Descripción Currently, the situation in Darién presents a panorama of inequity and vulnerability in health care.  Health centers are insufficient and, in many cases, do not have the necessary equipment and personnel to meet the needs of the population. (Sánchez et al., 2021).  The relevance of the problem lies in the fact that this situation of neglect and lack of access not only affects the physical health of the inhabitants of Darién, but also their social and economic development.  This research arises from the need to make visible the specific conditions of the health system in Darién, given that its remote location and limited communication channels have historically generated significant inequality compared to other provinces in the country.  The importance of this work lies in its potential to positively impact at a social and institutional level.  This work allowed us to identify various critical factors that affect the quality and access to health services in Darién, Panama.  Socioeconomic factors, such as widespread poverty and low educational levels, significantly limit the population's ability to access medical services and understand the importance of preventive care.  Regarding the feasibility of this project, the research is viable and is supported by a methodology that considers both the analysis of quantitative data and qualitative experiences and the testimony of professionals and users of health services in Darién.  This research will be developed with a mixed approach, combining quantitative and qualitative methods through the analysis of secondary data.
Descripción Actualmente, la situación en Darién presenta un panorama de inequidad y vulnerabilidad en la atención sanitaria.  Los centros de salud son insuficientes y, en muchos casos, no cuentan con el equipamiento y el personal necesario para atender las necesidades de la población. (Sánchez et al., 2021).  La relevancia del problema radica en el hecho de que esta situación de desatención y falta de acceso no solo afecta la salud física de los habitantes de Darién, sino también su desarrollo social y económico.  Esta investigación surge de la necesidad de visibilizar las condiciones específicas del sistema de salud en Darién, dado que su ubicación remota y las limitadas vías de comunicación han generado, históricamente, una desigualdad significativa en comparación con otras provincias del país.  La importancia de este trabajo radica en su potencial para impactar positivamente a nivel social e institucional.  Este trabajo permitió identificar diversos factores críticos que afectan la calidad y el acceso a los servicios de salud en Darién, Panamá.  Factores socioeconómicos, como la pobreza generalizada y el bajo nivel educativo, limitan significativamente la capacidad de la población para acceder a servicios médicos y entender la importancia de la atención preventiva.  En cuanto a la factibilidad de este proyecto, la investigación es viable y está respaldada por una metodología que considera tanto el análisis de datos cuantitativos, como el de experiencias cualitativas y el testimonio de profesionales y usuarios de los servicios de salud en Darién.  Esta investigación se desarrollará con un enfoque mixto, combinando métodos cuantitativos y cualitativos a través del análisis de datos secundarios.
