Descripción The research that is presented below and which is entitled Virtual education and its effects to apply practical subjects in education, carried out at the Specialized University of the Americas, aims to analyze the effects of virtual education when it is required to do subjects practices in educational settings at the Specialized University of the Americas, Chiriquí campus and to achieve this purpose it is determined what skills the student has in the management of virtual tools to face practical subjects, it is investigated what modality uses the UDELAS university to teach the practical subjects in virtual times and determine which are the competences that the student has once they acquire their knowledge through virtuality in their practical subjects at UDELAS.  The methodology used had a non- experimental cross-sectional design, a type of study according to its quantitative approach and with a descriptive scope.  The population consisted of 63 participants and 26 of them, who were doing practical subjects, were applied a survey questionnaire that allowed the collection of data as a result of their opinions and points of view.
As a result, it was known that the majority of students handle virtual tools to a great extent for their practical subjects, however, the use of simulators is used to a regular and little extent. UDELAS teachers use virtual platforms for this type of learning.  In addition, regarding performance in the professional field, they consider that responsibility and sense of commitment are improved.
Descripción Este estudio denominado: Educación virtual y sus efectos para aplicar materias prácticas en la educación, realizado en la Universidad Especializada de las Américas, tuvo como finalidad analizar los efectos que tiene la educación virtual cuando se requiere efectuar materias prácticas en los escenarios educativos en la Universidad Especializada de las Américas, sede de Chiriquí y para alcanzar esta finalidad se determina que las competencias que tiene el estudiante en el manejo de herramientas virtuales; para hacerle frente a las materias prácticas, se indaga qué modalidad utiliza la universidad UDELAS; para impartir las materias prácticas en tiempos de virtualidad y se determina cuáles son las competencias que tiene el estudiante, una vez adquiera sus conocimientos a través de la virtualidad en sus materias prácticas en la UDELAS.  La metodología usada fue con diseño no experimental transversal, con enfoque cuantitativo y con alcance descriptivo.  La población estuvo compuesta por 63 participantes y a 26 de ellos; quienes se encontraban realizando materias prácticas, se les aplicó un cuestionario de encuesta que permitió la recolección de datos producto de las opiniones y puntos de vista ofrecidos por esta muestra.
Como resultado se conoció que los estudiantes en su mayoría manejan en gran medida las herramientas virtuales para sus materias prácticas; sin embargo, el uso de simuladores son utilizados en regular y poca medida.  Los docentes de la UDELAS usan plataformas virtuales para este tipo de aprendizaje.  Además, en cuanto al desempeño en el campo profesional consideran que se mejora la responsabilidad y sentido de compromiso.
