Descripción The urgency of strengthening financial literacy in the SME environment, where decisions are often made empirically or without technical accounting support, is the basis of the study. Its objective is to describe and analyze how financial statements can contribute to the sustainability and growth of SMEs. In the current context, characterized by high competitiveness and growing financial uncertainty, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) face the constant challenge of sustaining themselves and growing sustainably over time. In this context, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) represent one of the most important pillars of the economy of the countries, accounting for 90% of businesses.  Due to their ability to generate employment, drive innovation, and stimulate local markets, they also perform social work in neighborhoods, offering affordable essential products. Therefore, the proper use of financial statements contributes not only to maintaining the operational sustainability of SMEs, but also to planning expansion, investment, and continuous improvement strategies. Therefore, SME owners and managers  can  improve their ability to meet market challenges, optimize their resources, and project their businesses with greater security and profitability.
Descripción La urgencia de fortalecer la cultura financiera en el entorno de las pymes, donde la mayoría de las veces se toman decisiones de manera empírica o sin un respaldo técnico contable, es la razón por la que nace el presente estudio el cual tiene como objeto describir y analizar como los estados financieros pueden ayudar a la sostenibilidad y crecimientos de las pymes.  En el contexto actual, caracterizado por una alta competitividad y una creciente incertidumbre financiera, las pequeñas y medianas empresas (pymes) enfrentan el constante desafío de sostenerse y crecer de   manera   sostenibles  a   lo   largo   del   tiempo.  Las   pequeñas   y  medianas empresas (pymes), representan uno de los pilares más importante en la economía de los países porque representa el 90% de las empresas y a la vez por su capacidad de generar empleo, impulsar la innovación y dinamizar los mercados locales, también ejerce una labor social en los barrios ya que estas ofrecen productos con precios accesibles y de primera necesidad.   Por lo tanto, el uso adecuado de los estados financieros contribuye no solo a mantener la sostenibilidad operativa de las pymes, sino también a planificar estrategias de expansión, inversión y mejora continua.   Por otra parte, los propietarios y gestores de pymes pueden mejorar la capacidad de enfrentar los desafíos del mercado, optimizar sus recursos y proyectar sus negocios con mayor seguridad y rentabilidad.
