Descripción Introduction: natural and Traditional Medicine is the set of practices or medicines, which are used to prevent, diagnose or alleviate physical and mental imbalances. The Acupuncture modality is an effective and safe therapy in the treatment of symptoms in mild neurotrauma. Objective: to evaluate the effectiveness of acupuncture treatment in patients with mild neurotrauma treated at the neurosurgery service of the Miguel Enriquez Hospital. Methods: a quasi-experimental, mixed prospective longitudinal study was carried out during the period June 2022 to June 2023, in a probabilistic sample selected by simple random sampling of 100 patients treated with mild neurotrauma in the neurosurgery on-call service of the Miguel Enriquez Hospital. The sample was divided into two groups of 50 patients each; group A with acupuncture treatment, and group B with conventional medical treatment. Results: headache prevailed in 50% of patients in both study groups. Group A was the one with the fastest relief of symptoms in the short term in 62% of patients and was the one with the least economic expense. Group B relieved symptoms in 44% of cases in the medium term. Conclusion: the effectiveness of acupuncture treatment in patients with mild neurotrauma was evaluated, which showed short-term relief of symptoms with less economic expense for the patients.
Descripción Introducción: la Medicina Natural y Tradicional es el conjunto de prácticas o medicamentos, que se utilizan para prevenir, diagnosticar o aliviar desequilibrios físicos y mentales. La modalidad de Acupuntura es una terapia efectiva y segura en el tratamiento de los síntomas en el neurotrauma leve. Objetivo: evaluar la efectividad del tratamiento por Acupuntura en los pacientes con neurotrauma leve atendidos en el servicio de neurocirugía del Hospital Miguel Enríquez. Método: se realizó un estudio cuasiexperimental, mixto de corte longitudinal prospectivo durante el período junio 2022 a junio 2023, en una muestra probabilista seleccionada por muestreo aleatorio simple de 100 pacientes atendidos con neurotrauma leve en la consulta de cuerpo de guardia de neurocirugía del Hospital Miguel Enríquez. La muestra se dividió en dos grupos de 50 pacientes cada uno; grupo A con tratamiento con Acupuntura, y grupo B con tratamiento médico convencional. Resultados: prevalece la cefalea en el 50% paciente en ambos grupos de estudio. El grupo A fue el que más rápido alivio los síntomas a corto plazo en un 62% de los pacientes y fue el que menos gasto económico tuvo. Él Grupo B el alivio de los síntomas fue en el 44 % de los casos a mediano plazo. Conclusión: se evaluó la efectividad del tratamiento con Acupuntura en los pacientes con neurotrauma leve lo cual demostró alivio a corto plazo de los síntomas con menos gasto económico de los pacientes.
