Descripción Introduction: bacterial resistance to antibiotics affects the evolution of patients. Objective: to describe antimicrobial resistance in patients admitted to the Intensive Care Unit of the“National Minimal Access Surgery Center “from January to December 2022. Methods: adescriptive cross-sectional investigation was performed in the Intensive Care Unit of the“National Minimal Access Surgery Center ", from January to December 2022, in 100bacteriological studies of admitted patients. The following variables were studied andoperationalized: isolated microorganisms, sample location, antimicrobial resistance profile and status at discharge. Summary measures were used for the statistical analysis of qualitative variables. The chi-square test was used to evaluate the association between qualitative variables. Results: Gram-negative bacteria prevailed 85%, Pseudomonas aeruginosa 38% and Escherichia coli 24%; greater presence of Escherichia coli in urine culture 54.2%. Among the Gram-positive bacteria, Staphylococcus coagulase positive 28% in respiratory secretions 90% and blood culture 70%. The most prevalent bacteria showed high resistance to all second, third, fourth generation cephalosporin and gentamicin. There was no association between the condition at discharge and the isolated microorganisms, but the deceased patients presented growth of some germ. Conclusions: the bacterial resistance profile was evaluated, which helped to recognize the most frequent germs and their level of resistance.
