Descripción ntroduction: in order to evaluate the students' learning, it must be adjusted to rigorous quality standards, since defects in the elaboration of the same have negative effects on the curriculum and on the teaching process. Objective: to diagnose the quality of the final evaluation instrument of the subject Molecular Biology applied in the ordinary convocation of the 2020-2021 school year of the Medicine career of the Faculty of Medical Sciences # 1 of Santiago de Cuba. Methods: a cross-sectional descriptive study was carried out in the population of 301 final evaluative instruments of the subject Molecular Biology applied to first year students. Results: the instrument has 15 items of objective test, 26 of essay and development, there is no correlation between the amount of time assigned in the teaching planning of the contents and the number of items that explore them in subjects two and five of the instrument. The easy items outperformed the expected items, and the items of medium ease outperformed those of medium difficulty. Cronbach's alpha was an acceptable 0.67. Conclusions: it was diagnosed the quality of the final evaluation instrument of the Molecular Biology subject, applied to the first year of the Medicine career in the Faculty of Medical Sciences # 1 of Santiago de Cuba in the course 2020-2021.the main deficiencies detected in the final evaluation instrument should be taken into account for its preparation. This can be achieved with an adequate individual and collective methodological work of the subject.
Descripción Introducción: para evaluar el aprendizaje de los estudiantes debe ajustarse a rigurosos estándares de calidad, pues los defectos en la elaboración de los mismos tienen efectos negativos en el currículo y en el proceso docente. Objetivo: diagnosticar la calidad del instrumento evaluativo final de la asignatura Biología Molecular aplicado en la convocatoria ordinaria del curso escolar 2020-2021 de la carrera de Medicina de la Facultad de Ciencias Médicas número uno de Santiago de Cuba. Métodos: se realizó un estudio descriptivo transversal en la población de 301 instrumentos evaluativos finales de la asignatura Biología Molecular aplicados a los estudiantes de primer año. Resultados:el instrumento cuenta con 15 ítems de test objetivo, 26 de ensayo y desarrollo, no existe correlación entre el fondo de tiempo asignado en la planificación docente de los contenidos y la cantidad de ítems que los exploran en los tema dos y cinco del instrumento. Los ítems fáciles superaron a los esperados, y los de facilidad media a los de dificultad media. El alfa de Cronbach fue aceptable de 0,67. Conclusiones: se diagnosticó la calidad del instrumento evaluativo final de la asignatura Biología Molecular, aplicado al primer año de la carrera de Medicina en la Facultad de Ciencias Médicas número uno de Santiago de Cuba en el curso 2020-2021.Las principales deficiencias detectadas en el instrumento evaluativo final se deben de tener en cuenta para la confección del mismo. Esto puede lograrse con un adecuado trabajo metodológico individual y del colectivo de la asignatura.
